psl - rebekah | helen magnus ---> goodbye to everything that i knew
[ helen had made her way over to rebekah's apartment as quickly as she could once she heard that matt had left. it seemed they were both destined to lose those whom they had come to care for. nikola, matt, jean-luc. it seemed to be a curse of this place. either way, she knew they both needed a chance to relax with someone close.
taking a deep breath, she knocks on the door, wine bottle and two glasses in hand. ]
Rebekah?

When she opens the door her eyes are swollen and puffy -- it's clear she's been crying.]
You didn't have to come here.
no subject
Perhaps not, but I didn't think either of us should be alone right now.
no subject
No, I suppose we should not be.
no subject
Did you have any plans for the day?
no subject
No. I can't say I do.

[ distractions. they both need them. ]

Come on, then. You and I need to get out for a time.

It'll be good to get our minds off things.

I feel as though I know so few people here. I only met Matt once. What was he like?
[ and if rebekah wants to ask her about jean-luc later, she'll deal with it as well. ]
no subject
He's kind. And fiercly loyal to those he cares about. He was one of the first people in a long time to treat me like just a girl. [Even if she had screwed everything up when she killed Elena.]

[ it's something she understands and as she pushes some of the clothes aside, her expression turns wistful. jean-luc treated her the same way and between him and rebekah, helen was just beginning to open up. but with his disappearance, she's finding herself latching onto the person she knows best here. ]

[ it's a soft admission, one helen takes seriously. she believes the best of her friend. neither of them are perfect and perhaps rebekah has a lot worse in her past than helen does, but the important thing is that rebekah genuinely wants to be a better person. helen sees no reason not to encourage her. cutting her off and treating her like a monster would only turn her away from the right path. she can see how that's done more damage than help to rebekah in her past. ]

[And the soft reply shows how much that means to Rebekah, the idea that maybe she can be more than what she's been in the past. Happier, nicer, more human.
Someone people wouldn't be so eager to turn away from.]

so for now, she lets her hand drop and returns to their search, pulling out a dress and showing it off. ]
What do you think?
[ it's a bit old-fashioned, but she thinks it might suit rebekah. ]
no subject
She offers a smile in return as she looks at the dress.]
It'd look nice on you. [She doesn't realize Helen had picked it out for her.]
