[ okay so. someone had told her that her phone now had an upgrade to contact any communication device in any universe -- the idea that there was a multiverse had blown her brain a bit at first, but she liked to think she was --
okay no she wasn't quite over that yet. details. still, donna stared at her phone for a while longer. it was set on "text" setting, whatever that meant -- no, okay it meant text, obviously, but to whom and why she had no idea. still, if it might bring the doctor back to her -- he'd left her! the audacity -- it was worth a try, right? ]
Come on, then, Doctor.
[ and so she sent a small message to anyone with a phone or similar device of communication in any world. even seers, scrying might be able to intercept it. really, she had no idea. she was just shooting in the dark, as they used to say, though not the dark from the library. that wouldn't do at all. with luck, her message would reach someone. ]
My name is Donna Noble. Can you see this message? Doctor?
(( ooc: prose or brackets welcome, any world, any time, parallel universes, aus, doubles, anything goes! ))

[ she's really glad to see you... er, well, hear from you, doctor. really she is. ]

[After a few minutes, the familiar 'vworp' sound starts as the TARDIS materialises. She might appear a bit different if Donna looks closely enough - the paint is fresh, and there's a few other minor differences on the exterior.
It doesn't take long for Eleven to stick his head out of the door.]
See? I told you so!
no subject
oh... oh look. it's not the doctor she's used to. ]
But you're not-- [ staaare ] Did you really regenerate? ...That was my fault, wasn't it? Really sorry about that! But it's good to see you, Doctor.
[ so the stare turns into a smile. ]

[The Doctor pops out of the TARDIS, enveloping Donna in a hug.] Look at you, though, Donna Noble!
no subject
still, she won't complain about that hug. it's nice to see him again, different though he is now. ]
Look at you, Doctor. You've had a tune-up since I last saw you. How long has it been?
no subject
[Distracted, planning, full of cosmic angst and denial, something like that.]
It hasn't been nearly that long for you, though, has it? [He gives her an impish grin.]

Two hundred and ten years and you're only just now coming back to see me? [ she knows there were extenuating circumstances, but come on. ]
Only a few days. [ that does get a smile from her. ] Any longer and I'd have to yell at you for keeping me waiting again. D'you know how hard it is to find you? I've been looking all over for you! Again! Okay, so, this time I was looking for the wrong one of you, but I've still been looking! [ the smile widens just a little more. ] Looks like the universe isn't through with me yet or I wouldn't have found you.

[Jack thinks he's funny, obviously.]
no subject
[ she'd think this was hilarious if she wasn't trying to find the doctor. ]
Have you or have you not seen the Doctor?
no subject
[And there he is in person, giving her one of those famous Jack smiles.]
Haven't seen the Doctor, but I'm always willing to help out a friend in need.

Do you even know where we are? And can your little teleportation thing get us both back somewhere else? Like home? I'm tired of being lost in whatever year this is on whatever planet this is.

[ she's tired or she'd be a bit more snarky about it. ]

Don't know where he is, though. As usual.
no subject
[ that's not important, though. focus, donna! ]
Right. Of course. He's gone and disappeared. Any way you can trace him? Or ring him again. You got through the first time.
no subject
He's not answering, of course. I'll see what I can do about tracing it.

[ breathe, donna. if anyone can help her find the doctor, it'll be martha. or jack, maybe. ]
JOKE THREAD
BUT IT'S BEAUTIFUL

[ ...she's frustrated, okay. ]
no subject
[You can't see him, but he's totally bobbing his head and swiveling his ears like he does when someone calls him a good dog.]
no subject
Wonderful. Thank you.
[ wait a minute... ]
What unit is that? Are you part of UNIT or Torchwood or something? But if you were, you wouldn't know where the Doctor is, either. Unless you're one of Martha's people.
[ she's totally overthinking this. ]

[ if texts could sound disappointed ]
...Can't be. If it were, you'd remember me. Unless you lose your memory when that happens, but you wouldn't have remembered Sarah Jane if that were it, right?
[ and this is making her head hurt. ]
I can't even ask you what year it is. You're a Time Lord. It's every year!
no subject
No I do not and how do you know about -
You know Sarah Jane?
no subject
[ careful, donna. why is everything so difficult with the doctor? ]
I mean, we haven't really met. Just sort of... existed in the same area for a space of time.
no subject
Ah. Well then, what are you looking for me for?
no subject
...Or we could talk?
[ how does she even deal with this one? ]
no subject
My name is Charity Carpenter. I believe you've sent me this message by mistake. I'm not a doctor, but I've seen my fair share of injuries if you need help.
