She was having a nightmare.

It felt real, but she didn't want it to be. Everything was confusing, twisting and turning around her, and Naomi felt as though she might fall over and out of her bed. She whimpered to herself and rolled over, squeezing her eyes shut and hugging one of her stuffed animals tightly to her chest.

She didn't want to be here. Her mother was busy. That meant...

"Neelix?"

Was he even there? Was he in the room with her?

Normally, it wouldn't matter as much. She loved Neelix and he was very important to her, but normally she could manage on her own.

Tonight... tonight was different.

Tonight, the monster under her bed was back. And Neelix wasn't there to scare it away.

"I'm Alexander. My father works aboard the Enterprise as chief of security." He said it with pride in his voice. "He is also a strong warrior. Something I am going to be when I grow up." He'll be crossing his arms now. Yes, he was grown up already. Can't you see?

"Who are you?"

Naomi blinked at him for a moment, taking in the way he looked. She'd never actually seen a Klingon before -- Lieutenant Torres was only half-Klingon, after all. At least, from the look of him, she assumed that was what he was, but she decided not to ask yet. For the moment, she slid out of bed carefully, still clutching her stuffed Flotter.

"I'm Naomi Wildman. You're not on the Enterprise anymore. You're on the starship Voyager."

"You must be wrong. I was with my father, just before I walked into your room. I got lost down a corridor and now I'm here. I don't get it." He frowned and tried not to look scared. Being scared was something Klingon children did not allow.

"What is that blue thing you have in your hand?" He pointed to her Flotter toy.

Naomi could be scared for the both of them, in that case. "My room's on Voyager," she told him frankly. "Maybe you walked into a temporal anomaly?" It made sense to her.

The question about her toy made her glance down at where he was pointing. "It's Flotter. Does your holodeck not have The Adventures of Flotter?"
