PSL - James Watson | Helen Magnus ---> We're glad for what we've got
It had been a long day for Helen, a very long day indeed, and she was exhausted after everything that had happened, the emotional toll of finally ending the Ripper case and dealing with Adam. She'd taken her time the next day, spent a lot of it downstairs or in the library, trying to keep herself occupied. But eventually, it became too much and she sought out the only other person she could: James.
Wherever he was, she needed to talk to him. Much as she wanted to deal with it herself, she knew she couldn't. He'd been helping her deal with John first and then the Ripper case, and so she knew, despite everything else, that she could rely on him.
Her footsteps were quiet, her skirts barely rustling as she approached his study first. If he wasn't there, she would check the library next. And if he wasn't there, she'd bury herself in the books. She could use the distraction.

"He has known quite a bit more than your parents, at least," she answered, trying desperately to keep her head. "I daresay he would not mind entirely."
no subject
"That is true," he started and then turned his face to kiss her neck, to lazy to lean up and kiss her properly, "now if only my brother can not force things we will be well off."
no subject
"You believe he might try to... force us?"
no subject
"Only in the matter that he would want me happy, he's unfortunately over protective for being the younger sibling who works in government."
no subject
"I daresay, if I cannot make you happy... then I am doing something wrong."
Her hand tightened in his hair as her other held him close to her. He was well on his way to making Helen Magnus speechless and that did not happen very often.
no subject
"Indeed you would be darling, but I have little fear in that."
And he wasn't going to move thank you very much Helen. He rather enjoyed being close to her like that and getting those reactions, it was in part an experiment and in part to try and show her affection.

"Dear God, James."
Her tone isn't chastising, not even scolding. It's filled with wonder and awe, amazement that someone can make her feel like this again.
no subject
"Yes Helen, darling?"
And he sounds just a touch cheeky as he says it too.

No he's not taking advantage of this newfound spot on her. Not at all.

"Where does it hurt?" she asked softly, moving her hands to where his were attempting to work the knot out. She wasn't particularly good at this sort of thing, but she could at least try to make things easier for him.

"There, and it's more as if I laid wrong for too long is all. Nothing to worry over." It was the normal morning problem really.

Towards the end, however, she leaned over him as she worked, pressing her lips to the side of his neck to see what he would do. Two could play that game.

"Did that help, darling?"
no subject
"Wonderfully, Helen thank you. Not so limber as you are apparently still."
no subject
"Then... perhaps I shall have to share your bed more often, so I can do more to ease your pain."
Either that or her presence would have to be a morning occurrence at least. Whichever way it ended up being, she would be happy for it. More time with James was time well spent.
no subject
"Or at the very least see me each morning, though I do hope it is nothing too serious for myself."
He would take both options though really, because he wanted that time with her and that attention from her too. Spending time with her was never a chore.

She noticed where his eyes had moved and her cheeks flushed quite a bit at that, though she supposed his attention could be in far worse places at that moment. One of her hands ran its way through his hair before she draped both arms over his shoulders and rested her forehead against his.
"I do hope not, either. Perhaps we could have my father look into it?"
